It is with great pride and excitement that I write this message to you as the Principal of Saluda River Academy for the Arts. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue serving alongside our staff, parents, and the SRAA community as we continue to cultivate our students into creative and successful lifelong learners.
Saluda River is a family-friendly neighborhood school that has been part of the West Columbia community since 1955. We are the only Lexington Two elementary school that affords our students and school community the opportunity to immerse in dance, music, theater, and the visual arts in conjunction with our strong academic program. The integration of the arts truly sets us apart. We welcome you to join us at Saluda River to see the wonderful programs we have in place for our students.
Last year, we worked to refine the vision and mission of our learning community. We often asked ourselves, “How can we have the largest impact on students?” Our beliefs and actions were ultimately summarized into three words: Academics, Arts, and Advocacy. These three words will continue to guide us as we work to empower all students to excel academically while fostering a lifelong love for learning and the arts.
I encourage you to become active members of the PTO and the school community and follow our school on our social media platforms. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). I have an open-door policy and welcome your input and ideas. My ultimate goal is to make SRAA a school where students feel safe, have a strong sense of belonging, and are empowered to achieve at high levels.
