Lex2 schools/offices to reopen Wed., Oct. 2, on a 2-hour delay

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Lexington Two schools and offices will reopen on Wednesday, October 2, on a two-hour delayed start.  The delayed start will ensure better daylight for safer road travel.  While classes will start two hours later than the normal schedule, afternoon dismissal will be at the normal time.

Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know for Wednesday:

-Students and staff should arrive two hours later than the normal morning start time.

-Students who are dropped off by car at school should arrive two hours later than the normal morning start time.

-Breakfast and lunch will be served as normal at schools.

- Lex2.5 after-school programs will meet on a normal Wednesday schedule.

- Other after-school athletic practices, games, and other extracurricular activities and programs will meet as scheduled. Should any changes be necessary, they will be communicated through schools or program coordinators.

-Students in 3K half-day child development classes will not meet.

Two other points:

-For our bus rider families, we ask for patience during morning routes over the next several days, as we work to not only get our students safely to schools but, in some cases, our bus drivers, some of whom are coming from other counties still dealing with significant storm impacts.

- For families who may still be dealing with power outages and other storm impacts, and may not be able to return to school Wednesday,  please know that we will support your child in any way that we can. If possible, please communicate with your school in these cases.

We look forward to seeing students and staff Wednesday, with a two-hour delayed start time,  and appreciate your support in planning for a safe return.
