WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Students in Amelia Schafer's first-grade math class at Saluda River Academy for the Arts have been working in the supplemental First in Math program and have correctly solved more than 430,000 math problems (you read that right) -- on top of all the classroom work!
That puts the Saluda River class in the top spot in South Carolina for all grade one teams and at No. 6 in the nation! On average, each student correctly solved 16,671 math problems in the program.
Students will receive recognition from First in Math for their achievement.
